Weight Loss Surgery Costs
Self funded (No Private Health Insurance)
Most procedures can be offered on a Self Funded basis.
The cost of a self funded procedure is compromised of Hospital Costs, Equipment Costs and individual Professional Fees.
We will provide a total estimate of costs for your surgery incorporating all the above components prior to you going ahead.

We are currently offering an affordable Overnight Sleeve option for selected patients who are looking at this procedure.
Note that for self funded patients unexpected extra costs can sometimes occur if unplanned treatments or equipment is needed or extra days in hospital.
High Risk Cases
High risk cases require Private Health Insurance and cannot be self funded through our clinic. This is due to the increased risk of complications or the need for expensive services such as intensive care for which you are not covered as a self pay patient.
High risk cases are determined by your surgeon on the basis of certain factors including your age, your weight, the complexity of the surgery you require and the presence of significant medical conditions such as heart or lung disease.
As an example you are more likely to be designated High Risk if
- You are over 60 years of age
- Your weight is over 180kg
- The surgery is revisional (i.e. you have had previous bariatric surgery in the past)
- You have had complex abdominal operations in the past
- You suffer heart failure, arrhythmias, emphysema or are on blood thinners
- You have severe or untreated Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
Although we can give some guidance on enquiry with regard to high risk cases ultimately it will be only after consultation with your surgeon that this decision is made as to whether self funding your procedure is possible.
Superannuation
Many patients elect to access their Superannuation to aid with costs involved in bariatric surgery. Our staff can help you with this process.
